According to a corporate spokesman who talked to the Charlotte Observer, American Airlines removed its 24-hour hold option for select customers as part of a two-week test. The business declined to disclose on why the review is being conducted, but the test would assess how customers use the 24-hour hold option. According to the American Airlines website, the service allows prospective customers to hold seats on a flight for up to 24 hours, giving them time to determine whether or not they want to actually purchase a ticket.
